Michael Sullivan, Deputy Commissioner
CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection
79 Elm Street
Hartford CT 06106-5127
Dear Deputy Commissioner Sullivan:
Re Old Saybrook's 'escalating enforcement,' cited in yours of July 7, 2015.
2. In a letter dated September 10, 2014 (copy attached), the town informed the Department that a limited number of properties exist which have failed to comply with the local ordinance. A range of enforcement actions are being pursued to bring those properties into compliance.
Mr Sullivan, over the year that has elapsed since 10Sep14 the Town hasn't even attempted enforcement; which should be sufficient evidence of the Town's bad faith.
3. It is the Department's position that the town's continued pursuit of escalating enforcement actions to achieve compliance with the ordinance is sufficient evidence of their good faith efforts to comply with the requirements of the stipulated judgment.
- Michael Sullivan, Deputy Commissioner, July 7, 2015
If we 13 George Drive owners aren't a target of 'enforcement,' was the point of your July 7, 2015 letter to frighten us into giving up our property to the Town without the constitutionally-required compensation? without any legal process whatsoever?
Very truly yours,
Joel R. Anderson
