Town of Old Saybrook
302 Main Street
Old Saybrook CT 06475-2384
The system of private property is the most important guarantee of freedom, not only for those who own property, but scarcely less for those who do not.
-- Friedrich August Hayek
Dear First Selectman Fortuna:

1. Cite the specific section of law that authorizes the Town's Health Officer to issue ultimatums on WWMD financing.

2. I have alleged that the WPCA, with respect to the implementation of the WWMD, is engaged in fraud. They haven't asked for my help in identifying fraud. Guilty knowledge isn't sufficent reason not to investigate.
Remind the WPCA membership of the potential consequences of "deliberate indifference."
3. I would like a copy of the Memo of Understanding (MOU) between the WPCA and CRAHD. I'll pay the Town's nominal fee for copying. Alternatively, the Town can post the document to its website and inform me of the URL.
The public cannot be whipsawed between two public agencies.
4. Why hasn't the Town provided email addresses for Selectmen Giegerich and Gernhardt?
Our elected representatives must be available to the public unfiltered through Fortuna or Laine.

If our representatives intend to hide from the public, they should do the honorable thing and resign.
5. In the minutes for the SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN, Monday, December 12, 2011,
You, [First Selectman Fortuna] stated that he [you] had received an invoice from an attorney that had been engaged by the previous administration. The invoice is for the month of October and it totals over $17,000.
Town Counsel was/is Michael E. Cronin, Jr.

a) Who, in the previous administration, engaged the attorney?
b) Who is the attorney?
c) What was the purpose? (subject matter?)
d) that the Town found $17,000 value in it?
e) If the public is paying $1000/hour for 17 hours of legal work, send me a copy: it has to be of public interest.
                             Very truly yours,

                             Joel R. Anderson
